Job Summary

Carter High School is seeking to appoint a dynamic Maths & Physical Science Educator. This is a full time post, ideal for a passionate and skilled educator with a strong foundation in Mathematics & Physical Science.

 

Responsibilities will include:

·         Teaching and Facilitation: Deliver high-quality Maths and Physical Science lessons to Grade 9–12 learners, creating an engaging and disciplined classroom environment.

·         Lesson Planning and Preparation: Develop structured lesson plans and relevant teaching materials aligned with the curriculum and academic standards.

·         Assessment and Feedback: Monitor, assess, and evaluate student performance through tests, assignments, and exams, providing clear and constructive feedback.

·         Academic Support: Prepare learners effectively for examinations and academic assessments, ensuring strong subject understanding and performance.

·         Student Development: Encourage both academic excellence and the holistic growth of students, fostering confidence, discipline, and critical thinking.

·         Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in school activities and contribute positively to the broader school community.

·         Compliance and Values: Uphold and implement the school’s educational policies while aligning with and promoting its values and standards.

 

Required Skills & Qualification

·         A relevant teaching qualification (B.Ed Degree with specialisation in Mathematics/Physics as a major)

·         PGCE or equivalent professional teaching qualification

·         Registered with SACE

·         Minimum of 3 years proven experience in teaching Maths and Physical Science at FET level

·         Familiarity with the CAPS curriculum and assessment standards.

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·         Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching and learning

  3. An affidavit confirming that you have never been convicted of a sexual offense.
  4. A valid police clearance certificate.
  5. Proof of registration with SACE
